What makes our team special is the amount of heart, determination, and growth our dancers show every day. Many of our team members are newer to dance and did not come into the program with years of studio training or extensive technical experience. Instead of allowing that to hold them back, they put in the work to improve. They show up, learn new skills, take corrections, push themselves outside of their comfort zones, and continue working even when something does not come easily. Beyond dance, we focus on building leadership, accountability, teamwork, and respect. We are proud of our accomplishments, but what makes this team truly special is watching dancers grow in confidence and ability throughout the season. They may not all have started as experienced dancers, but they are proof that hard work, commitment, and believing in one another can create something special.
I am most excited to see how much our team continues to grow. We have already seen so much improvement in a short amount of time, and I am excited to see what they can accomplish with another season of training, competing, and pushing themselves. More than anything, I am looking forward to seeing them become a stronger, more connected team and watching all of their hard work come together on the competition floor.
What I love most about DTU is that it gives our dancers an environment where they can be challenged, inspired, and celebrated at the same time. As a team with many dancers who are newer to dance, DTU gives them the opportunity to see what is possible, learn from other talented teams, and push themselves beyond what they thought they could do. I love that the focus goes beyond just placements and awards and creates an experience that encourages growth, teamwork, sportsmanship, and a genuine love for dance.
