The Ohio University Dance Team is more than just a performance group. It is a family built on excellence, tradition, and leadership. Team members serve as ambassadors for Ohio University, proudly representing the Bobcat spirit at athletic events, alumni functions, and community initiatives. What makes the team truly special is its commitment to developing well-rounded student leaders who excel both on the dance floor and in the classroom. Through a culture of dedication, teamwork, inclusivity, and lifelong friendships, the Ohio University Dance Team creates an unforgettable experience that empowers students to grow as performers, professionals, and individuals.
This year is a HUGE transition year for us. We have 20 amazing dancers but we are a very young team. We are strategically focusing on team dynamics as our leadership team has been working all Summer to create a camp and series of events (including a high ropes course, etc.) that will help us to bond and create at a quicker rate. Our talent level is higher than ever and we have established a very trusting relationship with our choreographer so we know we have the energy and the drive to make this year our best year yet!
What I love most about DTU/TCC is the opportunity to positively impact students' lives beyond dance. While performances, competitions, and championships are rewarding, the true joy comes from watching students grow into confident leaders, professionals, and lifelong friends. DTU/TCC creates a sense of belonging, purpose, and family that extends far beyond their years at Ohio University. The dedication, resilience, teamwork, and passion these students bring every day inspire me, and seeing alumni continue to thrive and carry those lessons into their careers and communities is the greatest reward of all.
