Imani Broussard
Imani Broussard is a Los Angeles native with over 20 years of dance experience, first discovering her passion through praise dance at church. She trained at Palos Verdes Peninsula High School, where she was a three-year member of the Advanced Choreo Dance Team and served two years as head captain. She earned a Bachelor’s degree in Human Performance with a minor in Dance from Prairie View A&M University.
While in college, Imani was active as a dance company member, part of the Black Foxes Majorette Team, a voting rights advocate, and a working student. Now a certified Dance and P.E. educator in her 10th year, she has taught and coached students from elementary through high school, built student-centered dance programs, and led workshops that develop confidence and artistry in young dancers.
She has judged numerous dance and cheer competitions and worked with dance programs across the Houston area. Her teaching experience includes Herman T. Jones Elementary, Pro-Vision Academy — where she founded the majorette team — and KIPP Intrepid Preparatory and KIPP East End High School, where she established the schools’ dance programs.
Beyond education, Imani spent five seasons as a Houston Texans Cheerleader, serving as line captain and performing with artists such as T-Pain, Flo Rida, and Rev Run. She was also selected for two USO Military Tours, using dance to uplift U.S. Armed Forces members abroad. After 15 years in Texas, she returned to Los Angeles in 2025 with her husband. She currently serves as an itinerant elementary dance teacher, CEO of Broussard’s Custom Culture, and is in her second season as a judge for Dance Team Union.
