Alexis Pacheco

Alexis Pacheco is a dance educator, choreographer, and adjudicator with experience across competitive, collegiate, and professional dance programs. Her professional background includes performing in the NBA and serving as captain and choreographer for the Detroit Pistons Dance Team, as well as choreographing for the Detroit Lions Cheerleaders and award-winning high school and college teams, including Michigan State University and the University of Michigan.She has also danced with a professional touring contemporary dance company, for Caesars Casino and in the opera production, Aida, giving her a broad perspective across sports entertainment, concert dance, and commercial dance.

Alexis holds a Bachelor’s degree in Dance and a Master’s degree in Education from Michigan State University and trained on scholarship at Giordance Dance Center in Chicago. She currently teaches K–12 dance at a prestigious private school, has taught undergraduate dance performance courses, directed collegiate dance teams, and owns and operates a dance training facility and fitness center focused on athlete development and dancer wellness.

She is a National Academy of Sports Medicine–certified personal trainer with a youth exercise specialization and holds certifications in strength and flexibility training and Acrobatic Arts. This background informs her judging through an emphasis on safe technique, functional strength, execution, and sustainable training practices.
