The DTU Showcase Routine is a routine you will learn on Day One of camp. You will learn this routine as a team, and you will select two of the following styles to learn: Pom, Jazz, or Hip Hop.

After learning the routine, you will work as a team to add group work, formations, levels, ripples, etc. Each team will showcase their unique routine creation at the DTU Fan Showcase on Day Three. We will have specialty awards to give out during this showcase, but the main goal is to get  your team working creatively together!

In our dynamics classes, you will learn different styles of dance, while also learning about the origins of each style.

For example, in our Jazz Dynamics class, you will explore Broadway, Contemporary, and Hard-Hitting Jazz.

This class aims to introduce your dancers to styles they may not have been exposed to prior to camp to continue a well-rounded education in dance.

Throughout camp, your dancers will take a series of combo classes: Turns, Kicks & Jumps, and Leaps.

In these classes, your dancers will learn 2-4 eight-count combos that progress across the floor that are specific to each class type. The DTU Crew will watch and give feedback on technique and execution of skills.

After watching routine previews, each dancer will choose one routine to learn for their evaluation during the DTU Fan Showcase. There will be 3-6 routines to choose from for this routine, and these routine options will vary in style and level.

The dancers will have opportunities throughout camp to perfect this routine. During the DTU Fan Showcase, the dancers will perform their evaluation routine in small groups. The DTU Crew members will evaluate them according to their memory and performance of the routine and will award them 1 of 3 evaluation level pins.

6:30 PM - 8:00 PM

TEAM BONDING

Pombo is a style of conditioning unique to DTU that incorporates traditional workouts with pom movements to enhance cardio and strength in motions.

The Gameday class will teach your dancers about entertainment, projection, energy, and performance in relation to crowd engagement.

Dancers will learn and practice a gameday inspired performance that will kick-off the DTU Fan Showcase on Day Three.

This performance will incorporate spiriting, sideline material, kicks & jumps, and a few surprises!

This routine will NOT be evaluated, but it will be performed for fun in the DTU Fan Showcase.

Keep in mind that you will receive access to our 2022 DTU Camp Kit after your camp, which includes all 17 DTU routines. If a routine is not offered on-site at your camp, you will have the ability to learn that routine with your team from the camp kit.

We combine Tabata techniques with dance skills to create a fast-paced cardio workout that works muscles specific to dance skills. Tabata is high-intensity interval training that consists of eight sets of fast-paced exercises each performed for 20 seconds interspersed with a brief rest of 10 seconds.

The DTU Fans will be invited to a free showcase at the end of Day Three where your dancers will perform material learned during camp. Showcases can range from 1 and a half to 3 hours depending on your Unity camp size.

The DTU Fan Showcase will include:
